Miu Miu x Paris Fashion Week : Textures galore

The Miu Miu show today was well 'one of those' shows (whether that's a good or bad thing, you decide). The collection itself isn't my favorite but I'm always a huge fan of Miu Miu accessories and this season is no different. The one thing which was sure to catch everyone's eye on this collection was the extreme usage of textures. Textures of all kinds, from quilted bomber-jacket-like fabric to perspex and knits, there wasn't a single heavily textured fabric that wasn't found in this collection. And of course one cannot give a 101 guide to wearing texture without doing some layering. I know this will be a hit with fans of excess styling, who said less is more? More is better with Miu Miu. I must say the shoes along with the heavy layers were a bit unique and almost awkward. This season, the Miu Miu girl is setting an ambiguous statement with those short skirts and dresses paired with long see-through perspex jackets and shoes.

I'll end right there and let you give the verdict on whether we like this collection or not.

  1. I don't know, I'm getting a very contemporary, almost futuristic take on the 60s mod. The boxy, shift dress-like silhouettes and use of thick vertical lines are quite a nod to the block shift dresses of the 60s but it's rather modernised by metallics, quilting and mixed patterns.
